MedPro Healthcare Staffing, a Joint Commission-certified staffing agency, is seeking a quality Histology Technician or Histology Technologist for a contract with one of our top healthcare clients.

Requirements

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Possession of the HT or ASCP certification as a Histology Technician from the Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
• At least eighteen months of general laboratory experience.

Duties Responsibilities

The Histology Technician or Histology Technologist position is an advanced technical and limited supervisory position in the preparation of tissue specimens for pathological examination.

• Receives and logs specimens.
• Assesses quality and appropriateness of specimens received and takes appropriate action, under the guidance of a level II Histotech.
• Maintains neat, organized and legible written records.
• Performs routine and special Histology staining procedures accurately and notifies a level II Histotech of potential problems.
• Demonstrate professionalism as evidenced by the cooperative attitude of peers and associated staff.
• Performs minor Histology procedures in conjunction with other Histology personnel such as specimen registration, specimen disposal, filing slides and completing appropriate paperwork for consults.
