MedPro Healthcare Staffing, a Joint Commission-certified staffing agency, is seeking a quality Endoscopy Technician for a contract with one of our top healthcare clients.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Endoscopic Technology program or Surgical Technology Program.
• Certification credentialed by Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) or by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Current BLS Certification.

Duties Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Endoscopy Technician is to provide direct assistance to surgeons/physicians during endoscopic procedures.

• Prepare endoscopy room; set up scopes, monitors, and light sources.
• Gather supplies and check that equipment is working properly.
• Positions patient to give best exposure for endoscopic procedure, using stabilization equipment, when necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety.
• Assist physician during procedure; passing equipment, managing suction, irrigation, and specimen collection.
• Maintain scope cleaning and disinfection if applicable.
• Follow strict infection control guidelines.
• Participate in emergency resuscitation and stabilization as needed.
