Description

Provides direction, coordination and monitoring of transport staff. Monitors/adjusts Transport Tracking system as necessary, participates in the hiring and training of new staff, assists with the implementation of departmental goals and objectives and ensures compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Acts as a liaison to other departments, managers/supervisors and staff. Transports patients to and from all areas of the hospital via stretcher/wheelchair. Transports other items and equipment according to departmental policies and procedures.

  • Provides direction, coordination and monitoring of transport staff. Addresses any attendance, punctuality, and/or performance concerns with employees. Assists the Transport Manager in performance management as necessary.
  • Monitors staffing patterns/schedules and provides feedback to the manager re: opportunities for service improvement
  • Monitors staffing needs on a daily basis including; managing unscheduled absences and determining if staff can be flexed down based on volume/established criteria
  • Participates in the preparation and interpretation of management reports to monitor employee performance, job request demand/supply key indicators, delay analysis, etc.
  • Develops and maintains effective liaisons with all departments served. Continuously assesses opportunity for improvement in patient safety, patient satisfaction, and customer satisfaction.
