Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients with a variety of diagnoses, including stroke, pneumonia, cellulitis, and more. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The shift is 12 hours, and the schedule cycle is every 6 weeks.

Job Details:

• Location: Kings Mountain, North Carolina
• Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM 7:00 AM), with every other weekend rotation and no call
• Minimum Experience: 0 years
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Required Qualifications: RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); 18 months of PCU experience preferred
• Skills: Essential nursing functions, teamwork, communication, experience with tracheostomies, cardiac medication administration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, management of central lines
• Support within Department: CNA performing activities of daily living, vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, telemetry, assistance with admissions/discharges and transfers, receptionist/human resources coordinating, charge nurse role (primarily without patient assignment), phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, resource nurse as staffing allows, 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 hospitalist coverage (in person and virtual), telemetry monitoring/technician at nurses station and central bunker
• Floating: Within region and scope of practice, including facilities in Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and the Central Division (main campus, Mercy, LCH). Floating mid-shift to additional facilities will be paid for travel time.
• Orientation: New employee orientation and 2 days departmental orientation
