Job Summary:
The Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Nurse is required to work night shifts at a facility located in Athens, Texas. This role involves providing high-quality patient care within a Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Unit with a focus on adult to geriatric patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid State or Compact license, 2 years of clinical experience, Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience, Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neurological Life Support (NIHSS)
• Preferred Qualifications: Travel experience is preferred
• Float: Not required
• Additional Information: The role involves managing ports, administering blood products, performing blood draws via central lines, managing colostomy/ileostomy, providing care for cerebrovascular accident (CVA) patients, feeding tube care, anticoagulation management, interpreting dysrhythmias, utilizing isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE), as well as providing respiratory support including oxygen therapy and nasal cannula use. Responsibilities also include managing PICC lines, starting and maintaining IVs, and utilizing telemetry monitoring both on the unit and remotely. Candidates should be comfortable with wound care, traumatic brain injury care, and participating in rapid response or code teams.
