Job Summary:
The location is in Macon, Georgia. This position is for a registered nurse specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a Level 1 Trauma Hospital. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role involves providing advanced nursing care for a patient population that includes cardiothoracic, vascular, cardiology, pulmonology, and general medical-surgical patients, with responsibilities encompassing clinical assessments, central line management, wound care, post-operative monitoring, and cardiac telemetry interpretation.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, every 6 weeks cycle
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm), ACLS, NIHSS certifications; 0 years of experience required; candidates must have an active license appropriate for this role, and valid certifications listed.
• Preferred Qualifications: Medical-Surgical certification preferred.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to all adult med-surg and telemetry units within the organization.
• Additional Information: The unit operates with a busy but team-oriented culture, working one major holiday per shift. Orientation includes one day for facility-specific procedures and two days for departmental education.
• Responsibilities include: assisting with vital signs, glucose checks, patient mobility, medication administration via glucomander and insulin drips, chest tube management, trach care, PIV starts, IV insertion and care, wound care, post-op monitoring, cardiac telemetry, care coordination, discharge planning, and patient education.
