Description

Job Summary
Med/Television Registered Nurse (RN) Charlotte, North Carolina. This position involves providing specialized inpatient care on a medical surgical with telemetry unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role focuses on caring for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of diagnoses, including COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, stroke, and pulmonary embolism, among others. The position requires a strong skill set in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and other Med/Tele skills.

Job Details

  • Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications, and a minimum of 2 years of med-surg with telemetry RN experience
  • Skills required: General Med/Tele skill set including stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV start, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, Flexiseals, Foley insertion/management), PCA pump management, and medication GTT management including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IVF.
  • Additional Information: The unit functions with a family-oriented culture; float rotation to regional facilities may be required. Travelers will be paid for travel time between facilities if floating mid-shift.
  • Support within Department: CNA performs vitals, blood sugars, hygiene care; secretary handles administrative duties; charge nurse supports unit operations; resource nurses assist with patient care.
  • Technology/Equipment: Epic EMR, Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors.
