Description

Job Summary:
A registered nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MedSurg/Telemetry) is sought for a facility located in Shelby, North Carolina. The position involves night shifts and requires candidates to bring their nursing license on the first day. The role includes caring for patients with various diagnoses, such as Cardiac, Respiratory, and Neurological conditions, in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: RN license with at least 18 months Med/Tele RN experience, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), proficiency with EMR systems (minimum 6 months experience with EPIC)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience interpreting cardiac rhythms, managing non-titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone), general medical/surgical skills including care of patients with tubes and drains, IV start skills, blood products, and wound care
  • Float: Float rotation may be required within the region and scope of practice to facilities in Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and central divisions as needed, with compensation for travel time between facilities during mid-shift floats
  • Additional Information:
    • Patient ratios: RN 1:5-6, with surge staffing up to 1:7-8; CNA 1:12
    • Support staff includes CNA, phlebotomist, RT (Respiratory Therapist), hospitalist, and intensivist
    • Technology utilized includes EMR (EPIC), IV pumps (Alaris), medication dispensing (Omnicell), and patient monitors (Massimo) in all rooms
    • Orientation includes 2 days in the department and facility-specific onboarding
    • Scrub color: Navy; Free parking; Unit culture is described as "Awesome"
