Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room nurse in Bethel, Alaska. This position involves delivering comprehensive patient care through all phases of perioperative services, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, efficient, and safe surgical procedures, while considering age-specific and cultural diversity factors.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Working dayshift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 32 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Must have completed nursing education from an NLN (National League for Nursing) approved institution; Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Must hold current licensure in good standing as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Alaska. Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS certification preferred. Additional certifications in Surgery or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) are highly desirable.
- Preferred Qualifications: National Certification in Surgery/PACU is preferred.
- Additional Information: The role involves managing care for patients from birth to elderly during surgical procedures, supporting the organization's mission. Comfort with flexible scheduling and the ability to work independently within prescribed limits are essential. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology, nursing standards, and the nursing process. Effective communication skills, ability to interpret diagnostic tests, administer treatments, and collaborate with healthcare teams are required. Candidates are expected to provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations prior to employment. Orientation begins on a Tuesday, and initial guaranteed hours are not assured during the first week.
