Job Summary
A registered nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Nursing is sought for a facility located in Iowa City, Iowa. This full-time night shift position involves providing care on a Medical-Surgical Oncology Unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current nursing license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Chemotherapy certification, no minimum years of experience required, and no specific education or degree requirements
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in oncology, surgical care, or Medical-Surgical Nursing is preferred but not required
- Additional Information: The unit is a Medical-Surgical Oncology Unit that cares for both medical and surgical oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and post-operative care for complex surgeries such as thyroidectomies, gastrectomies, adrenalectomies, splenectomies, liver and bowel resections, melanoma excisions, and pancreaticoduodenectomies (Whipple procedure). The unit serves as a part of a designated cancer center and is recognized as a Magnet hospital. Responsibilities include providing specialized patient care in a fast-paced environment that fosters professional growth and development.
