Description

Job Summary:
The operating room nurse position is based in Springfield, Illinois, within an acute care hospital that functions as a Level I trauma center. This role involves providing specialized surgical nursing care across various service lines, with a focus on general and trauma surgeries. Candidates are required to bring their Illinois license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Springfield, Illinois
  • Shift: Rotating, 10 hours per day, with shifts from 10:45 AM to 9:15 PM or 12:45 PM to 11:15 PM.
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, minimum.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in operating room and trauma settings.
  • Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license (in hand or in application process), BLS certification, minimum 3 years of operating room experience, Cerner electronic medical record experience preferred, Level I trauma experience required, and experience with various surgical procedures as specified.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification, Cerner EMR experience.
  • Float: Required; candidates will float within hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed.
  • Additional Information: The nurse will work with all service lines except cardiovascular. Specific case experiences required include bariatric, general surgery, neurology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, transplant, urology, trauma, and emergency management. Candidate must have experience with relevant equipment and instrumentation, including electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana tables.
  • Other Requirements: Must have active IL license in hand or be in application process, submit 2-3 interview times upon submission, provide SSN and DOB, and verify certifications. Candidates must have completed at least 18 months of relevant unit-specific experience unless otherwise specified.
