Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves providing specialized perioperative nursing care within the operating room, supporting a variety of surgical procedures across multiple service lines. Candidates will collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois nursing license, minimum 2.5 years of OR experience, BLS certification required, CNOR certification preferred, active Illinois license in hand or in application process, must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, open to working within scope to meet facility needs, no on-call required, weekend requirement of 1 per month, must have open availability starting 09/14/2026 through 12/14/2026.
• Preferred Qualifications: Cerner charting system experience, Level I trauma experience, experience with laparoscopic assistance, general surgery including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, and Whipple procedures, as well as neurology, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, and urology cases.
• Additional Information: Will work with all service lines except cardiovascular. Must have general OR and trauma experience, with specific case skills and equipment knowledge outlined in the position description. Candidate will be expected to handle complex surgeries, including laparoscopic, robotic (Da Vinci Xi, Mazor Robot), and microvascular procedures. Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in emergency management skills, infection control, radiation safety, and specimen handling.
