Job Summary
A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) nursing position is available in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is for a high acuity cardiac PICU that specializes in care for patients with complex cardiac conditions, including open heart surgeries, heart transplants, and open chests. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This position offers a 12-hour night shift schedule with a minimum of 36 hours per week scheduled, starting on 07/06/2026.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM; minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: ASN or BSN; BSN preferred; WI or Compact RN license; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS); AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred; 12-18 months of independent nursing experience in high acuity cardiac PICU; Level I Trauma experience highly preferred; ability to use critical thinking in complex cardiac cases; flu vaccine required or willing to obtain
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Additional Information: This position requires float to NICU and PICU as needed; every other holiday; no on-call or callback; experience utilizing electronic medical records (Epic); professional scrubs acceptable; jewelry limited to one small nose stud (body piercings limited to small nose studs). Candidate must have a valid WI or Compact RN license with required certifications.
