Description

Job Summary:
A Certified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry is sought in Concord, North Carolina. This position involves providing nursing care for patients with various medical conditions, including cardiac telemetry. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

Location: Concord, North Carolina
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00) with a minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications; current RN license; at least 18 months of RN experience in Medical Surgical with Telemetry; candidates must be willing to accept first-time traveler assignments
Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4-6, potentially increasing to 1:7-8 during surge times
Skills required: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone), care of patients with tubes and drains, IV start skills, blood products management, wound care and dressing changes
Support within the Department: Nurse Manager, Clinical Supervisor, staff RNs, CNA, Clinical Mentor, Rapid Response RN, House Supervisor
Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC, use of scales, GBS machine, transfer device, vein finder, EKG, crash cart, language interpreter, tele-medicine cart, doppler
Float: Floating within region and scope of practice; floating to all listed facilities within region if needed and agreeable to the traveler
Orientation: 2 days departmental onboarding
Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; additional time may be added to meet contracted hours
