Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry nurses are needed in North Carolina for a facility that is licensed for 457 beds and recognized as a Level 3 Trauma Center with Stroke and Bariatric center of Excellence designations. The position offers night shifts focused on delivering comprehensive care to adult patients with chronic diseases, mental health conditions, and post-IV antibiotic therapy. The role requires adaptability to a high-acuity environment and support for diverse clinical needs.
Job Details
- Location: 920 Church Street, Concord, NC 28025
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a schedule cycle of 6 weeks.
- Required Qualifications: 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications, and valid North Carolina RN license.
- Patient Types / Common Diagnoses: Chronic diseases, CHF, mental health, addiction services, COPD, DM, wounds, geriatric care.
- Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4-6, with surge capacity increasing to 1:7-8 based on acuity.
- Skills Required: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, management of non-titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone), care of patients with tubes, drains, IV starts, blood products, wound dressing changes.
- Support within Department: Nurse Manager, Clinical Supervisors, staff RNs, CNAs, Clinical Mentor, Rapid Response RN, House Supervisor.
- Technology/Equipment: EPIC electronic medical records system, scales, GBS machine, transfer device, vein finder, EKG, crash cart, language interpreter, tele-medicine cart, Doppler.
- Float: Travel nurses will be first to float to other nursing units within the designated regions as needed; flexibility and adaptability are required. Floating may involve working in different units or facilities based on operational needs.
- Orientation: 2 days of departmental orientation at the facility.
- Other Notes: Scrub color navy blue, free parking, team-focused culture emphasizing teamwork and accountability.
- Shift Hours: 0700-1900 and 1900-0700.
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours.
- Start Date: 08/24/2026.
- Additional Notes: Candidates must have a minimum of 18 months of Med/Telemetry RN experience and hold current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
