Description
Job Summary:
Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse position available in Austin, Texas. This role involves providing specialized care in a high-acuity, fast-paced unit focused on congenital and acquired heart conditions in neonatal through young adult patients. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Austin, Texas
- Schedule: Night shifts with 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; at least 2 years of Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CV ICU) experience; certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with congenital heart disease, surgical congenital heart defect care, heart failure, arrhythmias, transplant, and ventricular assist device (VAD)/Berlin heart management is highly desirable
- Float: Float rotation may be required
- Additional Information: The unit handles neonatal through young adult patients, with occasional adult congenital heart disease cases. The nurse-to-patient ratio varies from 1:1 for ICU patients to 1:3 for step-down and non-ICU patients. The role involves caring for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, including congenital defects, arrhythmias, transplant, and VAD support.
