Job Summary:
Operating Room Nurse in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This is a temporary full-time position requiring a candidate with at least one year of experience in the related nursing specialty. The role involves providing routine and complex surgical nursing care in a variety of cases, including ENT (pediatric and mostly geriatric and bariatric), urology, gynecology, general, and small orthopedic surgeries (shoulder, knee, hip). Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 6:30AM-3:00PM, Monday through Friday, with potential to work until 3:30PM; 8 hours per day; minimum 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred), 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty, RN License in the state of employment or a compact license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications via the American Heart Association.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in the operating room setting; circulator experience.
• Float: Float rotation may be required, as the nurse may need to work in OR or be asked to go to an adjacent location only 5 minutes away.
• Additional Information: The assignment is only temporary and may start as soon as possible. Weekend work is potentially required, with 1-2 times per week on call and possibly on weekends. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:1.
