Description

Job Summary:
The operating room specialty, focusing on open heart procedures, is located in a healthcare facility in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This position involves coverage of a variety of cardiac and surgical cases, with rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights. The role requires adapting to a dynamic surgical environment, providing expert care during high-acuity procedures, and responding to call responsibilities as scheduled.

Job Details:

Schedule: Evenings shift with 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Certifications from NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing) or NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting); a minimum of 2 years of recent CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience within the last 3 years; at least 1 year of Level 1 Trauma experience within the last 3 years; recent travel experience of at least 1 year; candidates should not need to scrub during procedures.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cardiac Robotics, Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implantation, and Heart Transplant procedures; strong coverage of general, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, trauma, robotics, and transplant cases, including heart transplants.
Additional Information: All shifts are rotating (days, evenings, nights); call response time is within 30 minutes. In-house call rooms are available for use if needed. No float rotation is required for this assignment. The initial assignment start date is 08/24/2026.
Location: 320 EAST NORTH AVENUE, PITTSBURGH, PA 15212.
