Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking licensed Registered Nurses (RN) specializing in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Rome, Georgia. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a unit that supports both medical-surgical and critical care patients, especially those requiring arrhythmia monitoring and cardiac titratable drips. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Rome, GA
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM for medical-surgical and critical care units; ER hours may vary.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license (RN), ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications. Experience with PCU skills such as arrhythmia monitoring and knowledge of cardiac titratable drips. Experience of at least 2 years in the requested specialty is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Not specified.
- Float: Float rotation may be required in all medical-surgical and critical care areas, including emergency department boarders.
- Other Details: The orientation includes a one-week facility orientation (Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm) followed by 2-3 days of departmental onboarding.
- Additional Information: Support staff includes CNA/Nurse Technicians, Respiratory Therapists, Phlebotomists, Educators, Staffing Specialists, Safety Sitter, Virtual Patient Observers, Virtual RNs, and Security. Department utilizes EPIC electronic medical records, Glucommander, cardiac monitors, Virtual RN, and other equipment. Scrub color is navy, and parking is free. The department promotes teamwork, prompt communication, and patient-centered care, with a focus on telemetry monitoring and rapid response to patient needs. Holiday coverage is scheduled at 70%, with possible on-call duties during low census periods.
