Description

Job Summary:
The healthcare provider is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This position involves providing specialized oncology and hematology patient care within a 17-bed unit. Candidates are required to bring their RN license on the first day of work.

Job Details:

  • Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Shift: Night Shift 7:00 PM 7:30 AM; 36 hours per week, scheduled every third weekend and as needed for holidays
  • Certifications: Must have BLS, ACLS, ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification, and an active RN license
  • Minimum Qualifications: No specific experience required, but certifications and licensing are essential. The role is open to negotiable experience levels.
  • Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours weekly
  • Additional Information: There is mandatory online education prior to first day, followed by three shifts of orientation on the unit.
  • Unit Details: 17 beds with patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3. Equipment includes vents, Alaris pumps, Phillips monitors, Stryker beds, Sara Steady, and patient lifts.
  • Unit Skills and Experience: Candidates with Stepdown, Critical Care, blood administration, electrolyte replacement, neuro assessment skills, central line dressing changes, and high-risk medication administration are preferred. Oncology/Hematology experience, chemotherapy administration, BMT experience, and critical care skills including vents and drips are advantageous.
  • Patient Population: Long-term hematology and bone marrow transplant patients requiring blood and electrolyte replacement, neuro assessments, IV therapy, chemotherapy, and physical therapy needs.
  • Personality Fit: Team players who ask questions, stay off cell phones, help others proactively, and demonstrate a heart for patient care. They should respect staff and patients, embody professionalism, and be willing to go above and beyond.
  • Dress Code: Approved navy scrubs and facility T-shirts only; no non-approved branding attire.
  • Reporting and Parking: Park in the designated staff area facing the interstate in the yellow outlined spaces. Enter through door 12, take elevators to the 4th floor, and turn left to access the unit.
