Job Summary:
Surgical Technician (Operating Room Technician) in Anchorage, Alaska candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This position involves working in a labor and delivery setting within the organizations obstetrics unit. The role includes assisting with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and other related procedures, supporting patient care in a dynamic hospital environment.
Job Details:
- Location: Anchorage, Alaska
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Certified Surgical Technician (CST), BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification, with 0 years of experience required
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Additional Information:
- Unit specifics include a 7-bed labor and delivery unit with variable patient ratios based on acuity
- Staffing typically includes 2 registered nurses and 1 surgical technician
- Equipment used: GE documentation system, EPIC electronic medical record system
- Procedures performed include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, Dilation and Curettage (D&C), Dilation and Evacuation (D&E), tubal ligation, vaginal repair, hysterectomy
- Dress code: Scrubs (provided)
- Floating policy: May be floated as needed when census is low
