Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular at a healthcare facility located in Hickory, North Carolina. The position involves providing specialized adult cardiovascular care in a dedicated unit with a focus on cardiac-specific diagnoses such as Coronary Artery B|alloon|Grafting (CABG), transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI), and carotids. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day.

Job Details

  • Location: Hickory, North Carolina
  • Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) with 8 beds, patient ratios of 2:1 with occasional 1:1, equipped with Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
  • Specialty: CABG, TAVR, STEMI, Carotids
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Associate Nursing Degree, minimum 1.5 years of cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) experience (after orientation complete)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Critical thinking skills, CVICU experience, Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred
  • Float: Float rotation may be required as scheduled
  • Additional Information: Orientation occurs twice monthly. The unit is adult/geriatric focused with a patient population including coronary, post-surgical, and emergency cardiac cases. The Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in use is Cerner. Dress code is scrubs of any professional color. No on-call responsibilities.
