Job Summary:
Qualified registered nurses specializing in step down units are sought for a temporary assignment in Birmingham, Alabama. The position involves working in a 5 West Senior Designated Unit (SDU) during evening shifts. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of orientation. The assignment duration is 13 weeks, with shifts scheduled for 36 hours per week, typically during nights.
Job Details:
- Location: Birmingham, Alabama
- Specialty: Step Down Unit
- Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years experience in the relevant specialty, with travel experience and Cerner electronic medical record system experience preferred.
- Certifications: Active compact or Alabama state nursing license required.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information:
- All assignments are 13 weeks long.
- Candidates should limit their request for time off in July and the first week of August.
- All shifts include every other weekend and some holidays.
- Step down ratios can be on the bigger side, typically 1:4; may be 1:5 if transferred to a medical/surgical unit.
- No titrated drips are to be managed on these units.
