Description
Job Summary:
Surgical Technologist or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The organization is seeking qualified healthcare professionals to perform technical duties in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients within the operating room environment. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, minimum of 40 hours weekly
- Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program; BLS certification from American Heart Association; Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN license. Candidates should have 2 or more years of relevant experience preferred.
- Responsibilities: Perform technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients, maintain aseptic techniques, monitor situations that could breach aseptic protocols, transport patients, position patients, identify and care for biological specimens, set up operating room equipment, establish and maintain sterile fields, assist physicians during surgery, and ensure adherence to infection control policies.
- Preferred Qualifications: Ability to proficiently scrub in three specialty areas including but not limited to Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Ribs, Robotic surgeries, etc.
- Additional Information: Blocked scheduling accommodated; no weekend requirement; on-call requirement; floating to various locations may be required.
