A Skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located in Freeport, Illinois. The position involves providing advanced patient care for critically ill individuals within a busy ICU environment. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details

• Location: Freeport, Illinois
• Shift: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730), with scheduled shifts most in need
• Schedule: 36 hours per week, beginning on June 8, 2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of 2 years ICU experience. Certifications required include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Common diagnoses handled: Sepsis, General Medical, General Surgical, Stroke (TNK), DKA, PNA, ETOH withdrawal.
• Additional Information: Holiday rotation included. The unit has a hospitalist available 24/7 and utilizes Meditech electronic medical records. Familiarity with Meditech, ICU code blue procedures, and titratable medication management is preferred. Experience with telemedicine and cardiac monitoring systems such as GECarescape and Airstrip Technology is advantageous.
• Float: Float rotation may be required, including MedSurg, Telemetry, and Emergency Room shifts.
• Submission requirements: Applicants with previous employment at any FHN Memorial location must disclose it for a DNU check.
