Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical Floor in Neenah, Wisconsin. This position involves providing skilled nursing care on a Medical/Surgical unit with a focus on trauma, neuro, and ortho cases. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role is scheduled for 12-hour days, with a contract length of 13 weeks, starting as soon as possible.
Job Details:
- Location: Neenah, WI
- Shift: 12-hour days, with start times at 5:30 AM
- Schedule: Days, 36 hours per week minimum
- Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification. Minimum of 3+ years of experience as an RN, with at least 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and one travel assignment. Recent charting experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) system EPIC within the last 2 years is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in neuro and orthopedic trauma, proficiency in managing complex post-operative neuro trauma surgeries and orthopedic trauma surgeries (such as fusions, backs/spines).
- Additional Information: The position involves working in a Medical/Surgical unit with a patient ratio of 1:5 during the day. The nurse will care for trauma surgical, neuro, and ortho patients, with specific responsibilities including managing chest tubes, PCA/epidural/Q-ball, CBI, and postoperative neuro/ortho trauma surgeries. The role requires resilience, the ability to manage change, and a strong work ethic.
- Schedule Details: 12-hour shifts, starting at 5:30 AM, with every other weekend and holiday rotation. No travelers from facilities or their home locations within 50 miles of the facility are accepted for this role.
- Float Requirements: Float rotation may be required throughout the facility within the skillset and within all ThedaCare facilities within a 60-mile radius.
- Other Requirements: No on-call or callback duties. Must adhere to holiday rotation schedule.
- Interview Schedule: Available Monday through Friday for MSP Interviews.
