Description

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a registered nurse specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) care for a position in Wausau, Wisconsin. This role involves working in a 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with a focus on heavy telemetry, ventilator management, and trauma care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of work.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Wisconsin registered nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification all certifications must be from AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross). A minimum of 2+ years of experience is required, including stepdown/intermediate/PCU experience. ICU experience and trauma level II certification are preferred. Ventilator and tracheostomy experience are required. Candidates must have at least one prior travel assignment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Additional Information:
    • This unit has a contract length of 13 weeks, with start dates as soon as possible.
    • The unit has a heavy telemetry component with complex patients including sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, chest tubes, TBI, spinal cord injury, and stroke.
    • The primary patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1.
    • The unit operates on a fast-paced environment requiring hard work, resilience, and the ability to manage change effectively.
    • The traveler may float to higher acuity units as needed.
    • The traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays when the unit is closed.
    • During flu season, declination of flu and COVID vaccinations requires mask-wearing at all times per hospital policy.
    • Scrub colors are flexible.
