Job Summary:
The ICU Surgical Nurse position is based in Dallas, Texas, within a specialized Surgical Intensive Care Unit. This role involves providing advanced critical care to surgical patients, with a focus on oncology cases. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers a 12-hour night shift schedule, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Location: Dallas, TX
- Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Surgical
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
- Certifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas; CCRN preferred
- Experience & Education: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience, including surgical patient care, oncology experience preferred; BLS and ACLS required; Meditech electronic medical records experience preferred
- Required Qualifications: Valid Texas RN license; minimum 2 years ICU experience, BLS, ACLS; experience with CRRT and hypothermia protocol is preferred
- Unit Details:
- Bed Capacity: 16 beds
- Patient Ratio: Estimated 1:2
- Procedures: Central line placements, bedside thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, intubations, and other ICU procedures
- Equipment: Ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, GE Cardiac Output monitor
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Schedule: Night shift; start and end times to be discussed
- Additional Information:
- Flexible scheduling, out a month in advance; floating as needed
- Unit staff according to acuity and skills; assignments based on needs
- Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs, neat grooming, tattoos covered, no artificial or gel nails, hair pulled back if long, no visible piercings other than earrings
- No unprofessional attire; adherence to unit guidelines and policies
