Description
Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical (MS) Charge Nurse position is available in Wheeling, West Virginia. This role involves overseeing patient care on a Medical Surgical unit within an acute care setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Wheeling, West Virginia
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts with weekends as scheduled, usually 1/2 the total weekends per month
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (American Heart Association) certification, NIHSS certification, minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, and current licensure.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with patients diagnosed with CHF, COPD, cellulitis, R/O, chole, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, AKI.
- Float: Float rotation may be required based on census; external travelers are first to float.
- Additional Information: The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6/7, with up to 1:7 permissible if the RN agrees. The unit is equipped with remote telemetry monitored by techs. No ventilators or continuous BIPAP, but intermittent BIPAP is used. The patient population includes common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, and others.
