Job Summary
The position is for a Psychiatric Unit RN (Registered Nurse) located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The organization is seeking a qualified healthcare professional to provide behavioral health services within its inpatient behavioral health unit. Candidates are required to bring their RN license on the first day of employment. The role involves working a rotating shift pattern and fulfilling a 36-hour minimum weekly commitment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with a mix of 8-hour and 12-hour variable shifts.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, associate degree or certificate in nursing (preferred bachelor's degree), with zero to two years of experience in behavioral health or related medical/surgical background. Candidates should be able to work independently and demonstrate charting experience with the Epic electronic medical record.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, possibly to Stevens Point inpatient behavioral health unit if needed.
- Additional Information: The contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours. During flu season, any traveler declining flu and COVID vaccinations must wear a mask at all times; compliance with this policy is mandatory. The unit has a capacity of 8 beds, with a patient-to-RN ratio of approximately 1:5-6 when at full capacity. Responsibilities include medication passing, patient care, documentation, and milieu management.
- Shift Requirements: A combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling.
- Minimum Experience: No minimum experience required, but preferred 1-2 years of behavioral health experience.
- Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday.
