Description

Job Summary:
Cardiology Nurse Practitioner in Iowa City, Iowa. This position involves providing specialized care within a Medical Surgical Cardiology Unit. The role supports adult patients with various cardiac conditions, including post-operative care, arrhythmia management, and complex cardiac treatments. Candidates are required to bring their professional license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Iowa City, Iowa
  • Shift: Days, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid healthcare professional license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, two years of experience in a large level 1 or large level 2 trauma setting, experience with adult medical cardiology, cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, and telemetry monitoring.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventricular assist devices (LVAD), postoperative adult cardiology care, and certification in relevant specialties.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: The unit is a 47-bed Medical Surgical Cardiology Unit providing care for patients requiring telemetry, temporary cardiac pacing, and vasoactive or anticoagulant medication infusions. The unit manages postoperative cardiac surgery patients, those with cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension, chest pain, arrhythmias, LVAD patients, and others. It has received awards for excellence and holds multiple certifications from the Joint Commission.
  • Start Date: 06/29/2026
  • Submission Requirements: Limit four submissions per agency for days shifts.
