Description
Job Summary:
A Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a facility located in Grafton, Wisconsin. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care in a Level III Trauma Center ICU setting, with candidates required to bring their license on the first day. The position entails working night shifts, with a schedule of 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Location: Grafton, Wisconsin
- Experience: At least 3 years of ICU experience; preference for candidates with CRRT (NxStage) experience
- Certifications: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Certifications (Preferred): NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Skills required: General ICU experience including vent/trach management, invasive line management (A-line, CVP, Swann), drains/tube management, Foley management, chest tubes, post-surgical recovery, post cath experience, fresh heart experience (preferred), CVVH, Balloon Pumps, CRRT (NxStage)
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week; every other weekend rotation; RTO pending manager approval; no on-call required
- Additional information: Orientation includes 1 day meeting with educator and nurse manager, followed by the remainder of the shift with a preceptor. The unit supports a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 for RNs and 1:8 for CNAs during days, 1:17 during nights. Various support staff are available including charge nurses, intensivists, ICU-specific pharmacists, RTs, phlebotomists, and educators. The facility requires COVID-19 vaccination. No scrubs with camo, denim, or hoodies are allowed. Parking is free. More than two sick calls may lead to contract review and potential termination.
