Description

Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Maternal Child Health is sought for a position in Ithaca, New York. The role involves providing direct patient care within the Maternal Child Health department, including Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, and Neonatal Intensive Care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); zero years of required experience; location in New York State; Post Partum experience required.
  • Additional Information: The RN will work collaboratively with unit leadership to follow the scope of practice for nursing governing bodies such as the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), National Nurses Association (NNA), and the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). Responsibilities include observation, data collection, care planning, and implementation, emphasizing person-centered care and critical thinking. The role also involves independent care of mother/baby couples, participation in clinical decision-making, and acting as a resource to peers. The unit is equipped with six Labor and Delivery Rooms, two triage rooms, eleven Post Partum Rooms, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with four single-family NICU rooms, a Cesarean Section Surgical Operating Room, and a Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Staff are cross-trained in Labor and Delivery and NICU.
