Description

Job Summary:
Nurse Manager Labor & Delivery in San Luis Obispo, California. This leadership role involves collaborating with clinical teams to oversee patient care in the labor and delivery unit, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and patient satisfaction. The position requires providing operational oversight, supervising nursing staff, and facilitating a positive environment for both patients and staff.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in nursing or an equivalent combination of education and related experience; 5 or more years of experience; at least 2 years of supervisory experience; RN licensure in the state of practice; AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS certification; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification; AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS certification; Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree; clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification.
  • Essential Functions: Provides unit-based leadership in clinical services development and delivery. Supervises and directs nursing and ancillary personnel. Coordinates patient care plans and ensures compliance with safety standards. Conducts rounds and engages with patients and families to assess care quality. Develops strategies to improve patient satisfaction and operational efficiency. Manages staffing based on patient acuity and skills. Oversees performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions. Ensures compliance with safety protocols and hospital policies. Collaborates on quality improvement initiatives and maintains appropriate documentation.
