Description
Job Summary:
Certified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Home Health Hospice in South Portland, Maine. This role involves providing care for patients with diagnoses such as oncology, dementia, Alzheimers, end-stage CHF/COPD, and neurological conditions. Candidates are required to bring their Maine nursing license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: South Portland, Maine
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, with weekend and on-call rotations. Shift times are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: RN license valid for the State of Maine, BLS certification, drivers license, and reliable transportation. No minimum years of experience specified; one year of hospice experience is preferred. Travel acceptance is possible with hospice experience, and first-time travelers may be considered on a case-by-case basis with hospice background.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for patients with oncology, dementia, Alzheimers disease, or neurological conditions such as ALS, MS, or Parkinsons. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) system Netsmart, and familiarity with IV pump usage.
- Additional Information: Support team includes a clinical manager and lead. Orientation period ranges from 1 to 2 weeks. Night shift call occurs overnight from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM, usually once or twice a month depending on staffing needs. Holiday work may be required. Orientation includes support with technology and equipment, including vendor-provided IV pumps. Floating support may be needed if census is low in the South Portland territory. Traveler will drive from patient home to patient home and will have access to onsite parking at the office when needed. Parking is not provided at patient locations.
