Job Summary
A Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Peru, Illinois. This role involves providing direct patient care on a Medical Surgical floor, focusing on collaboration with Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and ensuring quality nursing practices. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details

• Location: Peru, Illinois
• Specialty: Medical Surgical (MS)
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, from 1900 to 0730, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; at least 2 years of nursing experience preferred; certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
• Department: Medical Surgical Unit with 18 and 22-bed sections; patient ratios of 1:5 during the day, 1:5-6 during the night; familiarity with electronic medical records (EPIC) system.
• Additional Information: Candidate must adhere to department-specific policies and be comfortable with telemetry monitoring, ventilator equipment, and overflow assignments to ICU or other campuses with prior notification. Floating to different units may be required, with specific dress code policies.
• Submission Requirements: Last four digits of clinician's Social Security Number; active Illinois license or confirmation of application; understanding of OSF's drug-free campus policy with negative drug screen required.
