Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) position located in Kodiak, Alaska. This role involves providing specialized obstetric and neonatal care within a Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital setting. The candidate will be responsible for managing labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care, following facility protocols and utilizing their expertise to support high-quality patient outcomes. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Type of Facility: Acute Care Medical Center / Long Term Care Facility / Outpatient
- Specialty: Labor and Delivery Department
- Shift: 3x12-hour variable shifts
- Shift Hours: 12 hours per shift
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Experience: 1 year of clinical experience in obstetrics and neonatal care
- Certifications: Valid State License (pending accepted), ACLS, BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced
- Required Skills: Administration of blood and blood products, assist with high risk delivery, assist with vaginal delivery, neonatal care, fetal monitoring, postpartum management, and neonatal assessment among others, as specified in the position description.
- Schedule and Commitments: Candidate must be willing to work two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year); orientation hours are not specified; guaranteed hours of 60 hours per 2 weeks, with potential for call and working within scope to meet facility needs.
- Additional Information: First-time travelers accepted; no local applicants accepted (must reside at least 50 miles from the facility); no float required; candidates must provide two references covering one year during the last three years; compliance with immunization requirements (Hep B) and documentation (SSN, DOB, RTO) required at submission.
