Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing highly specialized, family-centered care to critically ill and injured children in a state-of-the-art pediatric ICU setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day and must demonstrate strong Pediatric ICU experience, including at least one year of cardiovascular (CV) experience. The position offers an opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team in a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center with a focus on complex medical and surgical cases.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required.
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license, a minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty, and at least one year of Pediatric ICU experience with strong cardiac (CV) background. Certifications required include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is necessary.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Level II high acuity hospital settings, familiarity with intensive procedures such as ECMO, CRRT, and VAD, and prior charge nurse experience are preferred.
• Float: May be required to float to NICU and general care units as needed.
• Additional Information: Candidates must pass strict telemetry and cardiac interpretation tests prior to starting. A comprehensive orientation of 36 hours is provided. The unit cares for a diverse patient population including neonates, infants, children, and adolescents, with an average daily census of 18 patients.
