Job Summary:
The position of Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is located in San Luis Obispo, California. The role involves providing care to patients during the pre-operative and post-operative phases, including infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with diverse healthcare needs. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day. This opportunity offers a rotating shift schedule with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Location: San Luis Obispo, California
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor
- Education: Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent (required), Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred), completion of a basic cardiac arrhythmia class with passing score (required)
- Experience: Minimum 6 months in medical surgical nursing within the last 2 years; minimum 1 year in pre and post operative diagnostic catheterization laboratory preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS, AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS, AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS
- Additional Information:
- This role requires the ability to identify common recurrent patient problems and recognize symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress with high accuracy.
- Demonstrates proficiency in post-operative care and ECG rhythm interpretation, including management of life-threatening emergencies.
- Reviews medical history and assessment data, reports abnormal findings, and develops multidisciplinary care plans.
- Completes accurate and timely documentation and follows safety and quality control procedures regularly.
