Description

Job Summary:
A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves providing specialized critical care to pediatric patients in a state-of-the-art unit. Candidates are required to bring their WI RN or compact RN license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Location: Madison, Wisconsin
  • Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and some holidays required.
  • Schedule: 48 hours per week minimum.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • 3 years of experience in a high acuity hospital
    • Strong Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience
    • At least 1 year of cardiovascular (CV) experience
    • 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
    • WI RN or compact RN license
    • Certifications include American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in high acuity hospital settings, specifically level I or II trauma centers
  • Additional Information:
    • Must pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.
    • Will be required to pass strict pass/fail testing in adult and pediatric telemetry, with two attempts allowed.
    • Vaccinations: Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only).
    • The unit cares for critically ill pediatric patients with a variety of complex conditions, including post-surgical recovery, organ transplantation, neuro neurosurgical disorders, and trauma.
    • Will have responsibilities involving advanced pediatric critical care procedures, such as ECMO, CRRT, and ventilator management.
    • Floats as needed to NICU and general care when required.
