Description
Job Summary:
The labor and delivery unit located in Dallas, Texas is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing bedside care for high-risk obstetric patients, circulating in cesarean sections, and recovering high-acuity patients within a busy labor and delivery department. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Dallas, TX
- Specialty: Labor and Delivery Department
- Shift Schedule: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with minimum hours per week of 36 hours
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; certifications in intermediate American Womens Health and Obstetrics Nurses Network (AWHONN) fetal monitoring; at least 2 years of high-risk labor and delivery care experience; experience with high-risk obstetrical bedside training, circulating in cesarean sections, and recovering high-acuity patients in labor and delivery units.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with obstetrical procedures such as vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, Dilation and Curettage (D&C), postpartum recovery; familiarity with Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Additional Information: High risk obstetrical bedside training, circulating in cesarean sections, and recovering high acuity patients are essential skills. The unit operates with staffing ratios primarily of 2:1 and 3:1, handling cervical ripening, triage, stabilization, and active labor. Experience with GE fetal monitors is preferred.
