Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in El Paso, Texas. This contract role involves providing specialized nursing care to pediatric patients within a dedicated critical care unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex medical conditions, including septic shock requiring vaso-active medications and mechanical ventilation. Candidates are required to bring their RN license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: El Paso, Texas
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Start Date: June 29, 2026
• Minimum Hours per Week: 36.0 hours
• Required Qualifications: RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Candidates must have nursing experience, pediatric experience, and pediatric intensive care experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric and pediatric ICU experience, familiarity with procedures such as lumbar punctures, intubations, chest tube placements, conscious sedation.
• Additional Information: The unit consists of 19 beds, including 10 pediatric intensive care beds and 9 general pediatric beds, with a total staff of 27. The unit employs Hillrom beds, GC monitors, ICU Medial Plum 360 pumps, and Med Fusion syringe pumps. The EMR system used is Meditech. Night shift staffing includes charge nurses and 3-4 nurses per shift. Patient ratios are 1:2 in PICU, 1:3 in IMC, and 1:5 in general pediatrics.
