Job Summary:
Emergency Department Registered Nurse position in Lufkin, Texas. This role involves providing specialized emergency care in a busy trauma and stroke unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position includes variable evening and night shifts, with a schedule of 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 36 hours per week.

- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; Certifications including ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course); 2 years of experience in emergency nursing; No specific experience required in setting; Location in Texas; Minimum 0 years of experience
- Additional Information:
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in emergency nursing
- Experience managing trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac patients
- Competency in ECG rhythm recognition and emergency procedures
- Responsible for managing own ER holds and working with physicians/mid-level providers and charge nurse/house supervisor
- In-house security presence; patients per day approximately 80-90 with a ratio of 1:4
- No separate psych/seclusion rooms; patients are cared for in intermixed ER holds
- Responsibilities include phlebotomy or nurse draws, using Paragon electronic medical record system, and managing advanced respiratory equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPAP, etc.)
- Floating to units qualified for is required; Navy scrub dress code; specific departmental orientation provided
- No trauma level specified; position begins on June 22, 2026
