Description

Job Summary:
The Operating Room Open Heart Nurse position is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care for patients undergoing open heart procedures and other complex cardiovascular surgeries. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment. The position offers a dynamic clinical environment with opportunities to work on diverse cases including open heart, TAVR, and thoracic procedures.

Job Details:

  • Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
  • Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., shift negotiable
  • Required Qualifications: BLS (American Heart Association); ACLS preferred; 0 years of experience required; open heart or endovascular experience preferred; current healthcare license to submit; minimum of 2 years of clinical experience is preferred but not required
  • Additional Information: Scrubbing is requiredRNs only to scrub into hold the heart and help close the chest. Common cases include open heart, TAVR, open/endovascular, and thoracic procedures. Unit-specific orientation lasts 1 week.
  • Other Details: Certification in BLS (American Heart Association) is required; the facility permits floating to General Operating Room, PRN, or within Zone 1 if needed; hospital provided scrubs (light blue); on-site call room available; trauma level not specified; the assignment begins on June 22, 2026.
