Description

Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position in Prescott, Arizona. The role involves providing high-quality care to geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedure, and cardiac patients within a step down unit, primarily in a Pulmonary Care Unit (PCU). Candidates must bring their license on the first day. This position requires flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to interpret monitor strips, with shifts scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Job Details:

  • Location: Prescott, Arizona
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with schedules published 6 weeks in advance, including rotating weekends and every other holiday. Night shifts will be accommodated for block scheduling.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN); ACLS and BLS certifications; at least 1 year of experience in a PCU setting; minimum of 2 years of overall RN experience; experience interpreting monitor strips; comfortable managing titratable drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in MedSurg Telemetry and PCU units with skills in managing respiratory equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high-flow devices.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information:
    • Charge nurses will not take assignments.
    • Nurse aides will be utilized on all shifts.
    • monitor techs will monitor PCU and MedSurg Telemetry, and nurses should be able to interpret strips.
    • Scrub color: solid professional scrubs, navy-colored starting October to align with Dignity guidelines.
    • Unit-specific orientation includes 8 hours of hospital orientation plus 12-hour shifts at specific units.
    • No call or standby required.
