Description
Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in outpatient surgery is needed for a day surgery outpatient unit located in Austin, Texas. The position involves providing preoperative and postoperative care for a wide variety of procedures, including open heart surgeries, port placements, and endoscopy patients. Candidates must bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Austin, TX
- Shift: 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM (10 hours shifts)
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; previous experience in preoperative and phase 2 postoperative care; competent and comfortable starting IVs; experience with Meditech Electronic Medical Record system; no minimum years of experience specified

- Additional Information: Candidates are expected to work in a team environment. The ideal candidate is flexible, organized, efficient with time, and a team player. Scrub uniform is navy scrub color, with an option to wear hospital operating room scrubs. The unit has 16 beds, 25 staff members, and utilizes a team nursing approach in the postoperative area.
