Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart Nurse position in Asheville, North Carolina. This role involves providing specialized preoperative care for cardiac surgery patients in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Education/Experience: Critical Care experience required; Preoperative experience is a plus. Limited to 0 years of prior experience.
- Schedule: Days shift, Monday through Friday, from 05:00 to 13:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina.
- Unit specifics: 4 beds, patient ratio 1:1, with staffing includes RNs supported by support staff and leadership.
- Equipment and documentation: GE Carescape Monitoring system, Cerner EMR, and Fuji ultrasound.
- Procedures performed include IV starts, medication administration, arterial, central line, and epidural placement, among others.
- Additional responsibilities: Transporting patients to the operating room, assisting with induction and intubation, positioning, and skin preparation.
- Experience requirements: Excellent documentation skills, ability to work independently, strong communication skills, and good critical thinking skills.
