Job Summary: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse in Lima, Ohio. The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on the assigned shift, providing age-specific nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts; minimum 36.0 hours per week. Every other weekend.
• Required Qualifications: Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license; relevant work history supported by a skills checklist current to 1 year and pertinent to Progressive Care Unit (PCU); post-operative open heart care experience (required); critical care experience (required); chest tube and other drain management experience (required); pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access (required); proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips and recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms (required); advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities (required); experience assisting with chest tube removal, assisting with removal of pericardial pacing wires, management of temporary pacers (including pericardial and transcutaneous devices), use and troubleshooting of non-invasive ventilation (NIV) devices, and high-flow oxygen/other oxygen delivery systems (required).
• Preferred Qualifications: Chest tube and other drain management experience (highly preferred).
• Additional Information: Must float to all units within skill level. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria; providing clinical judgments based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills; and assisting in planning, directing, and teaching non-Registered Nurse staff such as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Patient Care Technician (PCT) and unit secretaries.
