Description
Job Summary:
The EP Lab (Electrophysiology Laboratory) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Galveston, Texas. This role involves supporting cardiac electrophysiology procedures, including structural cases such as TAVR, Watchman, and PFO, along with hemodynamics and EP studies. Candidates are required to bring their RN license to practice in Texas on the first day. This position is expected to start on June 22, 2026.
Job Details:
- Shift: Days, 10 hours per shift, Monday through Friday, scheduled for 40 hours per week.
- Schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts weekly, with call approximately 10 to 14 days in a 6-week period, including 2 weekend shifts (FridaySunday).
- Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
- Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory EP trained with hemodynamics and EP studies experience.
- Capable of performing responsibilities such as circulator, monitor, scrub, and recovery within the department.
- Proficient in using equipment such as IVUS, IABP, Impella, shockwave, and others.
- Skilled in identifying cardiac rhythms, waveforms, and abnormal ranges, with the ability to intervene appropriately.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- RN license to practice in the State of Texas.
- Preferred certifications: Cardiovascular certification such as CVRNII or higher, CCRN, RCIS, RCES.
- Equipment used includes: Mechanical ventilator, IABP, Impella, implants, and EP Ablation tools.
- Virtual orientation is scheduled for Monday, June 8th, with in-person Epic training on Friday, June 12th. An additional virtual orientation is on Monday, June 22nd, with in-person Epic training on Friday, June 26th.
- Additional Information:
- On call duty is required, with unpredictable work hours as needed.
- Routine exposure to radiation is necessary, requiring wearing a lead apron approximately 20 lbs. in weight.
- The work environment is high stress, with possible holiday shifts.
