Description

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a float pool position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a healthcare facility in San Diego, California. The RN will provide patient care in a general medicine, surgical, neuro, oncologic, cardiac, and orthopedic units. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. This position involves working a night shift with a schedule of 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

  • Location: San Diego, California
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 06/15/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Valid California state license, 2 years of PCU experience, experience with IV starts, Phlebotomy, A-line procedures, and charge nurse experience, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, Chemo certification, and current vaccinations including COVID-19 with booster.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in community hospital settings, LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) experience, trauma experience at Level I or II, travel experience, proficiency with EMR systems such as EPIC, and familiarity with Pyxis medication systems.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals based on census and unit requirements.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must have an active active California license, submit two manager references, and adhere to the return staff policy: must be gone at least one year before returning as a traveler. Vaccinations for COVID-19 and influenza are required, with medical or religious exemptions only.
