Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an Emergency Room (ER) Charge Nurse located in Arlington Heights, Illinois. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department environment. The candidate must have previous ER Charge Nurse experience, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant background. Candidates are required to bring their Illinois licensure and certifications on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Arlington Heights, Illinois
• Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts with start times depending on needs (7 a.m., 9 a.m., or 11 a.m.)
• Schedule: 36 hours per week, minimum of 36 hours per week, for a total of 12 weeks
• Required Qualifications: Illinois nursing license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Emergency Critical Care Registered Nurse (ECRN) certification with 3-5 years of ER charge nurse experience.
• Additional Information:
  • Census: 180 patients per day, among the highest levels.
  • Typical patient types include stroke patients and those from various nursing homes.
  • Facility features 44 rooms, with each team responsible for approximately 10 beds/pods.
  • The work environment supports a team approach with all staff working cohesively.
  • On-Call and holiday requirements are as needed.
  • Orientation includes 12 hours of training and 6 hours non-billable.
