Job Summary
Operating Room (Open Heart) Registered Nurse (RN) Athens, Texas. The organization is seeking a Circulating RN for the Cardiovascular Operating Room to support open heart surgical procedures. This role involves assisting in perioperative activities and maintaining safe, patient-focused clinical standards. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: 4x10 hour Days; 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: 13 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred (not required); State or Compact license in hand at time of submittal
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience; ability to scrub (preferred, not required); familiarity with charting using Epic
• Additional Information: The role supports cardiovascular surgical procedures and related perioperative needs, including (as applicable) code response, universal protocol (time out), specimen handling/labeling, starting peripheral IVs, urinary bladder catheterization, and managing specialized equipment and supplies. The unit does not contract travelers residing in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris.

• Submission Requirements: All time off must be listed at time of submittal. Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler. License hit is not accepted.
